Sehour Debates

As part of its Sohour Debates, N Gage Consulting held a panel session featuring Mr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Deputy Minister of Finance for Fiscal Policies & Institutional Reform. The roundtable discussion, held on the 20th of April, shed light on the key macroeconomic and fiscal policy developments in light of the proposed annual budget for FY 2021 / 22, along with insights on key legislative updates. The discussion was also enriched with the esteemed presence of the Advisor to the Finance Minister on Customs Dr. Magdy Abdelaziz and the Advisor to the Finance Minister for Tax Policy Mr. Ramy Mohamed Youssef.

Discussion around the Advanced Cargo Information System and the Executive Regulations of Customs Law. (207/2020)

N Gage Consulting held a virtual session with Dr. Magdy Abdelaziz, Advisor to the Minister of  Finance on Customs and the former Chairman of the Egyptian Customs Authority on April 15th, 2021.  The session involved discussions on the Advanced Cargo Information System (ACI) and the draft Executive Regulations of the new Customs Law No. (207 / 2020).

COP27 Moderation

I During Energy Day on November 15, Chairman and CEO of N Gage Consulting Mr. Karim Refaat moderated the National Initiative for Green and Smart Projects in Egypt’s Governorates panel discussions at COP27. Discussions featured the participation of UN High Level Climate Champion for Egypt Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning & Economic Development Eng. Khaled Mostafa, Senior Director of International Relations and Special Projects at Seaforall Mr. Glenn Pearce, Head of Corporate Banking, SMEs & Syndications at MIDBank Ms. Iman Abouzeid, as well as Regional Director Africa for MND Ms. Julie Benoist.

I N GAGE CONSULTING Chairman and CEO Karim Refaat moderated a panel session during COP27 on climate finance, one of the most critical topics pertaining to climate change mitigation, alongside Egypt’s leading bank and one of the top banks worldwide, the National Bank of Egypt. Entitled “From Conceptualization to Materialization: How Climate Finance is Reshaping the Future of Banking”, the panel featured discussions with opening remarks made by H.E. Minister of Environment, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, as well as the participation of Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt, Mr. Hisham Okasha; Commissioner for Infrastructure, Energy and Digitization for the African Union, H.E. Dr. Amani Abou-Zeid; UN Economic Commissioner for Africa and Deputy Executive Secretary and Chief Economist, Dr. Hanan Morsy; Deputy COO of AFD, Ms. Cassile Brénière; EBRD Managing Director of Climate Strategy and Delivery, Mr. Harry Boyd Carpenter; as well as Former Chairman of the NREA and Founder and Former CEO of EgyptERA, Dr. Mohamed El Sobki.

NFSA Roundtable Discussion

In February 2020, N Gage Consulting held a roundtable discussion with Dr. Hussein Mansour, the Head of the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA). The roundtable shed light on NFSA’s new mandate following the recent handover to NFSA from the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) and Central Labs, clarified NFSA’s future plans, discussed export and import processes of food products and suggested cooperation avenues between the NFSA and the Food & Beverage industry.

Reaffirming Online Internet Safety

On the 5th of February 2023, N Gage Consulting held an N Gage Debate panel discussion with the aim of reaffirming online internet safety among children and teenagers and discussing the importance of raising awareness among the Egyptian population on online safety. In addition, the panel discussion targeted pinpointing the means to ensure the coordination of roles of the non-governmental organizations and the private sector companies in creating a safe online environment for internet users. The N Gage Debates panel discussion was moderated by N Gage Consulting’s COO Dr. Sherif Fahmy and featured Dina Mongy, Head of Government Relations and Public Policy at TikTok Egypt and North Africa; Ranwa Yehia, Co-Founder and Director of ADEF; and Reem Mahmoud, Senior Gender Advisor for Salam@, The SecDev Foundation. The N Gage Debate also witnessed the attendance of representatives from the Egyptian Parliament, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, the National Council for Women, the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, as well as NGOs and academic professors specialized in online safety.
